Its Federer Vs Nadal in Wimbledon Again

Defending champion and world no.1 Roger Federer will meet world no.2 and three-time
French Open winner Rafel Nadal in the 2007 Wimbledon finals on Sunday. The two had
already clashed thrice this year, the last time being in the French Open finals in July, which
Nadal had won in four sets. This year, Nadal is already 2-1 up against Federer.
Overall, Nadal leads 8-4 in their head-to-head meetings.

Bartoli Stuns Henin

In a shock defeat, World no.1 Justin Henin went down to the spirited 18th seeded
Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli in three sets. After having lost the first set 6-1, Bartoli
staged one of the remarkable comebacks in the women's tennis history to take home
the next two sets, 5-7 and 1-6 to complete an extraordinary victory and a place in the
finals. In the finals, she'll meet three time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams of US.

Djokovic - Marcos Baghdatis Quarter Final

The QF match between the 4th seed Djokovic and 10th seed Marcos Baghdatis
was the fourth longest match in the Wimbledon history. The match, which was
eventually won byDjokovic in five sets, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (11-9), 6-7 (3-7), 4-6, 7-5,
lasted five hours, just five minutes short of the record for the longest ever match
to be played in Wimbledon on a single day.

Federer Vs Gasquet

World no.1 Roger Federer holds a 5-1 win-loss record against the 12th-seeded
and surprise semifinalist Gasquet. In the last Wimbledon, the two met in the first
round; however, Federer then hammered him quite easily.

Five Setters for Women

From 1984-98, the finals of the WTA Tour Championships (now Sony Ericsson
Championships) was a best-of-five-set match, making it the only tournament
in the women's circuit to have a five-set match in any round of the competition.
The format was reverted back to the usual three-setters in 1999.

Ivan Lendl and Grand Slams

Even though, the former world no.1 Ivan Lendl had not ever won the Wimbledon in his
glittering 16 year career (twice he was a runner up), he holds the unique record of
appearing in most number of singles grand slam finals - 19 -  in the history of world tennis. Of the 19 finals, he had won 8.

Can Canas Make it Three in a Row

Can Guillermo Canas repeat his act? The Argentinian world no.17 had defeated
Roger Federer in the last of their two meetings, the second only player after Nadal
to defeat the world no.1 in two consecutive matches since he had attained the top
rank slot. Canas had prevailed over Federer in the Sony Ericsson Open this March,
and two weeks earlier in Indiana Wells.  Overall, he is 3-1 up against Federer.
