Interesting Fact

Only two players in the current top 20 ATP rankings had won Wimbledon before -
Roger Federer (4 times)  and the 19th ranked Aussie, Lleyton Hewitt in 2002. 
No. 3 Andy Roddick had lost in the finals twice - in 2004 & 2005 - against R Federer.

Rafael Nadal in Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal appeared thrice in Wimbledon, 2007 being his fourth appearence.
He was eliminated in 3rd round in 2003, 2nd round in 2005, and was a finalist
in 2006, which he lost to the eventual winner and World no.1 Roger Federer. 

Roger Federer Vs Marat Safin: Head-to-Head

Roger Federer, the Swiss world number one, and Russia's Marat Safin had played
9 times overall against each other, the Wimbledon 2007  third round match is their
10th confrontation. Federer had won in seven of those encouters.  However, when
they met last time in a grand slam match, it was Marat Safin who had the last laugh,
defeating Federer in an epic 5 set duel in the 2005 Australian Open semifinals,
the tournament which the former had eventually won.
